Race Day Timeline

Gate Opens: 1:00 PM
Sign-Up: 1:30–3:15 PM
Pit Meeting: 3:30 PM

Rules

Practice Rules

  • Once a bike is staged and wristband removed, no additional practice runs are allowed.
  • Bikes must stage properly to practice. No wristband = no practice.
  • TT practice uses the oval staging area.

Race Day Rules & Safety

  • Gate fee: $10 per person (ages 6 & under free).
  • No unauthorized riding in pits. Vehicles must obey 5 MPH max.
  • Helmets and full protective gear required at all times.
  • Riders under 18 must have release forms signed by a guardian or a notarized waiver.
  • AMA Pro Racing rulebook applies for topics not covered here.
  • Riders may be disqualified for unsafe behavior or failure to follow rules.

Points & Awards

  • Riders must complete at least 75% of available class races to qualify for year-end awards.
  • Race position points apply to season totals.
  • Open A riders winning ≥75% of races must move up to Pro class unless under age 16.

Race Day Information & Rules (Detailed)

Gate & Entry

  • Gate fee: $10 per person.
  • Ages 6 and under: Free.
  • Riders must sign up and pay before 3:15 PM or pay a $5 late fee.

Pit & Riding Rules

  • Riding competition motorcycles anywhere except on the racetrack is strongly discouraged.
  • No unauthorized practice or “testing” machines in the pits.
  • Vehicles in pits must operate very slowly (5 MPH max).
  • Violations may include time penalties, lap docking, or disqualification.
  • No golf carts or SxS operated by individuals under age 18.

Flags & Red Flags

  • Red flag: all riders stop in the hotbox area (unless directed otherwise).
  • Failure to stop on red can lead to penalty-line starts on restarts.
  • After first lap: red flag = staggered restart.
  • Final lap red: race ends; positions scored from previous lap.

Machines, Staging & Lineups

  • Open A bikes can race Sportsman, but Pro racers cannot race Open A.
  • No lights on machines during racing.
  • Swap machines, late staging, or jumping the line = penalty line.
  • Two-minute rule applies only if called before missing your turn.
  • 65cc and up: if entering oval with a front brake, you have 2 minutes to remove it or race starts without you.
  • Check lineup sheets; you have 15 minutes after posting to correct/add info.
  • If too many riders for a heat, multiple heats will be run.

Track Limits & Passing

  • Maximum riders per oval start line: 6 (max 16 on track per class).
  • Maximum riders per TT start line: 10 (max 20 on track per class).
  • No changing lanes on TT track; violations result in a lap penalty.
  • If a rider leaves the track, re-enter without gaining a position or risk losing a lap.

Conduct, Protests, Insurance

  • No physical fighting tolerated (minimum automatic disqualification for event).
  • Rainouts: full refund if not all heats have been completed.
  • To qualify for year-end awards, riders must complete 75% of available class races and start the main event for points.
  • Protests must be submitted within 30 minutes of completing that main event race.
  • SVCC does not supply medical insurance; riders must carry their own insurance.
  • Gentleman conduct: 30+, 40+, Vintage = no rough riding; violations can lead to warnings up to suspension.

Age & Waivers

  • Riders under 18 must sign all race and release forms.
  • If guardian isn’t present, a notarized waiver is required.
